Noah… the guy who made me an aunt for the very first time back in 2000! At the time, I was just an awkward Jr. Higher who just started her new summer job at the Dairy Queen. And now, I have a baby boy of my own, and Noah is a graduating senior. How can this be?
I am sure my sister and brother-in-law are asking themselves the same question. Oh, how quickly life goes by. The moments of parenthood are challenging yet sweet and so swiftly gone. I know this not so much from my rookie-mom status, but by watching 12 of my own nieces and nephews grow up over time.
What can I say about Noah? Thinking about him honestly brings a smile… he has a fun-loving, goofy and FUNNY personality paired with a heart of gold. He makes me laugh… and I can be a bit of a tough audience sometimes, so this is saying something. He is ornery yet endearing, and SO talented athletically. The kid was already better at most sports than me by the time he was three… and that’s really not much of an exaggeration. (Not to mention– an amazing football player! So proud of what the Morton Football Team has accomplished this year!!)
I cannot wait to see where his journey of life takes him beyond High School. It’s really crazy, because part of me feels like I JUST did this– graduated and started college, trying to figure out what path I wanted to take in life and what I would study that would shape the career I would follow. It’s such an important time for shaping who you are… and I already know Noah is a good one, but I believe in this process he will flourish even more!
Thankful to God for this awesome nephew of mine, and am honored to have taken his senior portraits. When we took these this summer, it was super hot with about 400% humidity, and I was 35 weeks pregnant. I remember sweating bullets and being uncomfortable, but I would do it all over again in a heart beat because LOOK AT THIS HANDSOME GUY!
